Grocery store dream
I was a stocker at Kroger (grocery store), working in the frozen foods section. One day, a coworker brought in a giant display and set it up near my work area. It was mucky and black and shaped like a pipe organ. It smelled like rotten meat. I muttered something under my breath about it, and she heard me, and asked if I found her display offensive. I said yes, and she got angry, saying, "Well, I don't see how. It's just rotten cheese!"

Even though I had another 6 hours left on my shift, I took a break and left the store. I went to Thriftway (another grocery store). I used to work at Thriftway (I actually did, but in the dream, too). I found Darren there in the last aisle, talking with some friends. The aisle turned into a swimming pool, but I wasn't an employee anymore, so I didn't swim. I sat on the edge and smoked, though.

The next day, I went back to Kroger and the giant organ display was still there. The girl who'd set it up was moving it to the front of the store. She saw me and threatened to tell because I'd left early the day before. I didn't care. The customers were complaining about the stench coming from her display. Then the girl saw a customer in line at checkout with a baby in her cart. She turned into some kind of flying, shrieking demon and grabbed the baby and took it back to the organ display. The customer was clearly upset, but seemed to blame herself for bringing the baby into the store to begin with. I remember thinking, "I knew that thing smelled like rotting meat!"

I got into the checkout line, and somehow I jumped into the line for cashiers only. It was a self-service lane, but before you could leave you had to check a few customers' orders, too. The guy in front of me seemed to have no intention of actually leaving the store, because he was ringing up order after order after order. I realized I didn't have anything to buy, so I just left the store.
