DREAM
What I can remember... The Megastore I worked (I think) in a WalMart-type superstore, and it was Christmastime and the store was crowded with shoppers. My mom came in to do some shopping, and I followed her to the back of the store, where she started staring off into space. I asked if she felt okay, and she just kind of leaned on one of the shelves. She dropped a handful of papers. She was okay, just tired and stressed out from holiday shopping. I went to pick up the papers she dropped, and a bunch of shoppers had showed up out of nowhere and snatched them up like they were sale items. I eventually went up front and witnessed a conversation between two coworkers who were trying to date each other. Within 10 minutes, they told each other about their new boyfriend/girlfriend, decided they like each other better, broke up with the other boyfriend/girlfriend, and set a date to go to the movies. Outside the store, I saw a bright flash of light. I went out the front and saw that the parking lot was a giant lake (it was nighttime). The light was a searchlight on a helicopter. The helicopter was searching for a speed boat. They found it, and there was a guy in his mid-30s with a 6 or 7 year old girl (she was wearing swimmies). The little girl was upset because she was told she was allowed to zoom around in the boat without being caught by the cops. After a while, they let the guy and the little girl go. The Chase Then I was in my car driving down Clifton Avenue. There were two girls in the car behind me, fraternal twins. Their names were Alison and Alysa. They were mad at me, but I don't know why. I was "driving lazy", which consisted of sitting cross-legged behind the steering wheel, not using the gas or steering. I was going down Clifton hill, so I didn't need to accelerate, and for some reason I didn't need to brake. I would steer by leaning to one side, then the other. At the bottom of Clifton hill, I got onto an interstate briefly that ended in a ski slope. I stopped the car and got out, and so did the twins. They followed me into a neighborhood full of really small houses that all looked alike. As soon as I realized they were chasing me, I started running faster between the houses, sometimes going into them to hide and catch my breath or go out a backdoor and try to throw the twins off. I caught up with a guy I knew (I don't know him at all, but in the dream I did) whose brother had escaped from somewhere. The brother was on a swim team but had been kicked off because he was angry or had killed someone or something. So the guy was running from his brother, and I was running away from Alison & Alysa. We ran together. After a while, we got tired and sat on someone's couch. One of the twins came down the steps and saw me. Instead of beating me up or whatever I thought she was going to do, she called her sister over and we talked about this guy's brother and how dangerous he must be. The Car Ride I was much younger, and riding in the passenger seat of our old old Gremlin. My dad was driving. We were on a small backroad, between two lakes. I would look up in the sky and see these giant planets glowing. Dad told me to look closely, that the glow was actually millions of tiny lines going around the planet. Each line meant that one person was looking at the planet. When I looked again at each planet, I could see the lines, like a glowing web. Some planets had dense webs and seemed to glow brighter, and some planets just had a couple of lines. I wondered if the other lines knew that I was looking at the same planet at the same time.
Thanks for all the birthday greetings. This was a terrific birthday, with the exception of having to work so dang much. I'm trying not to think about all the work, though.
We got some actual weather this morning. Frozen rain with snow on top. W00ty w00ty w00t! (sarcasm) I'm really impressed with how the weatherpeople gave an accurate forecast. Except for the fact that it meant we're buried under cold wet stuff. Meh.
