Random stuff to prove I'm still around
I've been ignoring Dland, haven't I?
Well, maybe not. Maybe nothing's been happening. Let me see...
I was bummed about the election. Lots of people were. One guy even killed himself. I felt especially let down by Ohio, which is where I live. Stupid Ohio. Let's see if you get a Christmas card this year, Ohio.
Ohio approved issue 1, which will amend the state constitution to recognize marriage as only a legal marriage between one man and one woman. I imagine this means that all the "domestic partner" crap on the insurance stuff I read through last month will have to be rewritten.
Additionally, Cincinnati voted yes on issue 3, which gives special rights to gay people. Special rights. Like they're not regular people. Even blacks don't have "special rights", and in Cincinnati, that's a tender issue.
My Mom went to Italy, and if all went well, she came safely home last night. Yay, Ma!
Darren's car, Loki, sensed that it was almost time for me to take it to e-Check, so it tried to chuck its own muffler. I had to get that taken care of on Monday. I hate e-Check.
Last night, it was cold, and both Blue and Sirocco came to my back door, so I let them in. Packet sat at a distance and growled, making sure they didn't leave the kitchen/living room area.
Both of the boys were happy to be inside, and they were very well-behaved. Until I wanted to eat. I made a turkey TV dinner in the oven, and when it was done they "helped" me eat it. Blue was on one side of me, Rocco on the other, and both of them were peering intently at my knife and fork like they were trying to control them with their minds.
Good thing for them I don't have room for tons of food. They got about half the turkey (with gravy, even!) to themselves. They even ate a few of the peas. Silly kitties.
Aside from all that, I've been working. I picked up my knitting again a few weeks ago. I'm making shawls and baby hats right now, and I hope to start some socks soon.
Things I've found out in the past two days:
1. Darren can't make a Junior Birdman mask with his hands. I think his forearms and wrists are so muscular that they won't bend that way.
2. I can't make the Edward Scissorhands face without crying. I don't know why!
